Family: The daughter of Mako and Asami Sato. However, at a very young age, Her parents separated, and her father left. Leaving her and her mother alone, she returned to using her mother's surname, and has been trying to forget about Mako. She was an only Child. Has never met her grandfather, nor has she been told of his choices when Korra was the avatar.

History:
Born into a happy family, at the time, Maya was a very normal child. She started her Fire bending training early, since her father persisted. He trained her roughly until she was seven. Until... the day.
Maya woke up, shivering from a horrid dream she'd had. Being the young child she was, she ran into her father's room. To her surprise, only her mother laid in the bed. "Mommy..?" she whimpered. Her mother didn't respond. Positive she was sleeping, she looked around the room. Her father wasn't there. Snapping her fingers, a small flame appeared, illuminating the room. Her lip quivered, the memories of the nightmare flashing through her mind. Walking out of the room into the hallways, she continued calling for her father. No Answer, again. She felt water spill over her cheeks, and she flinched. She'd never cried. Not for as long back as she can remember.
She called again, louder this time. Once more, no answer. She bounded back to her mother's room, only to her a faint sound of crying. "M-Mom?" she said, raising her voice. The crying stopped, and she saw her mother's figure stiffen. She let the flame above her fingers whisk away. Her mother slid into a sitting position, and looked at her. In the faint light from the window, she could tell it was her mother who'd been crying.
As if by instinct, she ran onto the bed, and pulled her mother in for a hug. Her mother explained what had happened to her father, Mako, but all Maya heard was "He's gone. And I don't think he's coming back.."
Since that day, Maya has taken the initiative and taken care of her mother, using her bubbly personality. If anything but a smile is on her mother's face, it doesn't fly. To this day, Maya still practices her bending as if her father were here.
Physical Appearance: Maya rocks a heart shaped face, with shiny, mocha brown hair. She gets her curls from her mother, Asami. When she smiles, a faint dimple on each cheek is exposed.
Despite her Ethnicity, she has sparkling blue eyes that catch everyone's attention. She has plump, pink lips that are always curved into a smile. Long, dark lashes frame her eyes. Her eyebrows are neatly done. in all, her looks are most definitely from her mother.
She stands at a full height of 5'1", and weighs 97 pounds. Her petite frame is clothed in fire nation apparel, with the exception of her father's scarf, which she keeps in her pocket.
Personality: Maya is an all around good sport. She's not one for fighting, and definitely doesn't like being a buzz kill. She'd rather hang out with boys than girls any day, considering they're less drama.
Positive Traits: Loyal, Funny, Protective over her friends.
Negative Traits: a bit depressed from her childhood, too positive around others slightly bi-polar.
Pets: A baby fire ferret named Kya.

Family:
Cori's mother, Ikki, was an air bender just like Cori.
Her mother didn't give birth to her until she was much older than many of her siblings.
She was in no rush to have children, and waited until her late fourties to give birth to
her three children with her husband, Maso Lyn.

Mandi - She's now in her late twenties, and shares much of Cori's looks.
Though their personalities are much different, they are the closest one's in the family.

Harmony - Harmony is the middle child of the three, And is very indepedent, unlike her two sister's.
You could say that she acts a lot like her aunt, Jinora.
