KuzonGender: Male
Age:Fifteen
Family: Kuzon was born in the Southern water tribe to his parents, Lin-Tara, a water bender, and Rayko, a non-bender. Rayko was originally born in the Southern Water Tribe. After two years they married, and Kuzon was born.
Occupation: n/a
Element: Water
History: Born in the Southern Water Tribe, Kuzon discovered his bending pretty young, when playing a game with his friends known as, 'Be Avatar Korra and beat people up.' It was a crisp, clear day...
"Raaar, I'm Amon!" said one little boy, as ferociously as he could, "I'm gonna take your bending away!"
The boy kicked up snow, pretending to be a waterbender, towards a second boy, who managed to dodge most of it. Some still managed to get in, through the hood of his traditional jacket, and down towards his chest, where it slowly melted. "No you're not, Amon, 'cos I've got earth and water!" he retorted, grinning.
"Yes I am!"
"No you're not!" and, with that, the little boy scooped up some mud, and, with the uttermost concentration, threw it at the wannabe Amon, and it splattered. "Water and Earth power!"
"Yuck!" the second boy exclaimed, wiping the mud off his nose, "You're gonna pay for that! Grrr!"
He grabbed more snow than ever, and flung it at his friend. Kuzon saw a rock in the snow, and cowered, "No, stop!"
"What, why? Are you scared?" his friend taunted, thinking he was still playing the game.
"STOP!" Kuzon yelled, and the rock kept on coming. But the snow stopped, and turned into water, falling to the ground. On this day Kuzon not only got a sizable bump on his head, but also discovered waterbending. He was six at the time.
He loved his bending. He would practice everyday, by himself. His parents refused to find him a Master, yet. He was too young. [name] disagreed with this, and it was the subject of many arguments. It resulted in a loose relationship with him and his parents. This continued until his twelfth birthday, until, as a gift, they found him a Master, and he was taught. Kuzon's relationship was better than ever.
With a new Master, Kuzon found that the novelty of practising had worn off. He became less interested in his studies, and chose to spend his time doing more traditional Southern Water Tribe pastimes, such as hunting. He went to his lessons, but did not practise in his spare time.
On his thirteenth birthday, his father took him hunting. No nagging to practise; just him, and his father, brutally murdering animals to eat. Father and Son bonding stuff. They left at dawn, making the most of the day, and rowed in vast river of ice. It was slow moving, and vast. Spearfishing only a few fish, they continued right to the other side of the endless water. There, they were surprised to find a small Polar Leopard, hunting alone. Polar Leopards were solitary creatures, usually, but their young were always kept tightly hid in caves.
Kuzon and his father knew this young Polar Leopard was somehow abandoned, or even exiled, and so chose to take the cub back with them to the settlement. On their trip, they hadn't found much to eat, but they had found a new pet.
A quick check was all it took to discover this cub was female, and so she was named Lixue, meaning pretty snow, echoing her proud and soft coat. Lixue became the new best friend of Kuzon, and so he was even more distracted from his studies. This only changed in the Summer, when the ice began to slightly melt for another season. His father and many more men were out hunting, leaving the women, children, and elderly alone in the village. Lixue and Kuzon were playing by the river, and the weakened ice cracked, leaving Lixue to float away in stereotypical movie fashion.
Kuzon tried to use his waterbending in order to pull her back towards him, but failed. So he called his waterbending Master to help, and Lixue was returned. He realized the importance of bending, and chose to put all of his efforts into his studies once more. In his lessons, he learnt all about the flow of the world. Everyone was connected; what was wrong with other people didn't matter. He had the same flaws. Or so that was how he understood it. From then on, he decided to be his element. He had to let things go, always. It was at this point that he became the carefree person he was meant to be.
Whispers began to came of a woman, a woman and her army. Whispers became rumours, and rumours became fact. Kuzon's parents began doubting the safety of their little village. Against Kuzon's wishes, they sent him and Lixue to Republic City, the supposed citadel against the imposing threat. He may of been fifteen, but they believed that living there alone was better than possibly dying on ice.
He hitched a ride on a trade ship, destined for Omashu. He had other family, and he intended to meet them. He travelled with a few more traders to the now less-isolated Foggy Swamp Tribe, the original home of his father. He found some of the people to be very strange, but nonetheless met his family, and was pleased to learn that there was bending on his fathers side as well. He learnt of the differing skills of the Foggy Swamp Tribe, and was taught their style of bending. With all his recent, 'Go with the flow,' teachings, he found their rigid style extremely hard to learn.
He became amazed by their skills to bend plant life, and requested to learn it. His kin were unsure; he had had trouble with their specialized style of waterbending, and plantbending was probably the most specialized of anything they had. It took a lot of nagging and pressuring before they were willing to give it a go. They were right; Kuzon found it nearly impossible to learn. It was on his third-last day with the Foggy Swamp Tribe, he finally mastered it, to his Grandfather's relief. That relief turned to confusion when Kuzon made it clear he would never bend in their style again. Instead, he bended the water inside the plants with his own style; the style of the other Water Tribes. His plants did not move directly, they moved in a mystic dance.
He left the Foggy Swamp Tribe, and the last of his known family in the South, and returned to Omashu, this time on his own. He caught another ship (and this time one actually made for passengers, not for seal meat) and continued onto Republic City. He arrived on a rainy afternoon...
Physical Appearance:He stands at an average height of roughly five foot seven inches, being fairly average height-wise. He doesn't have many muscles, as he's still pretty young, but his body shape is coming in. He's slightly lanky with long, and a bit skinny limbs. His skin color is obviously a bit darker, resembling the color of mocha. His jawline is pretty strong looking and rather bold in his masculine features. He's got broad, flat cheekbones with a relatively flat, wide nose. He's got a few darker freckles sprinkled here and there, too. His eyes are the color of light coffee, often looking almost black in the sunlight and a soft chocolate in softer light. His hair is short, being textured. He keeps his hair short, too, not letting it grow out that often. It grows in tight curls close to his head.
Personality: [name] has a generally easygoing personality. Like the calm seas, he is 'clear' in personality, and shares a lot. While usually he is like this, and calm, he can be angered. It takes a while, but eventually it builds up, and he will be cranky for quite a while. Kuzon has a very dry sense of humour, and he shows this when he is angered through many sarcastic remarks. He loves his bending, and practices regularly, in order to be the best he can be. Due to this, he believes himself sometimes better than his fellows, and also is quick to defend himself if wronged. He can be remarkably arrogant, depending on his mood, but is generally found to be easy to get along with.
Positive Traits: Carefree
Jokes around
Slow to anger
Negative Traits:Sarcastic
Proud
Defensive
Pets: Kuzon has a Polar Leopard, known has Lixue, meaning
pretty snow. Her coat is similar to the Snow Leopards of our world, and her eyes a vivid, electric blue.
Pet Peeves: Kuzon loathes the more show-off side of people, making him a bit of a hypocrite. He hates those who use bending just for fun. He does show-off, but he's better than other people, so why should it matter?
Another thing he hates is anyone 'rigid' in persona. He took all the 'flowing' things he was taught as a young bender to heart, and thus feels that people need to be carefree, and laid back.
